The neglect, abuse and exploitation of our elderly citizens is a serious matter. The Department of Human Resources is committed to protecting and serving all Marylanders by implementing programs that shield some of our most vulnerable citizens.

Social Services to Adults - Assists the elderly, disabled and vulnerable adults, to obtain needed home and community based long-term care services, equipment and programs.

Victim Services - Meets the crisis needs of victimized individuals and families through a comprehensive network of quality, community based services.

Adult Protective Services - Serves adults that lack the physical or mental ability to provide for their own basic needs.

Adult Public Guardianship (APG) - Provides services that may restore a vulnerable adult who has been certified medically incompetent to make critical life decisions to a level of self-sufficiency.
